making money
I'm flying back up to San Francisco next week to help my company with some training. I am a "consultant". Anyway, I also made some more money in the following ways:
If you ever bought the "nutritional supplement" Airborne, you may be eligible for a settlement. Airborne is that "health supplement invented by a schoolteacher" that helps you out when you're sick. I admit, I bought them a few times at the urging of my co-workers and friends. It seemed to work, although that could have been the combination of the placebo effect and other cold medicine I took at the time. Go here for more info. It's best if you have receipts, but who keeps receipts for items like that anyway? You can still claim something.
And the second one is something I received in the mail, telling me I was eligible for a refund of fees charged to "eligible cards, which are Visa, MasterCard, and/or Diners Club credit, charge, and/or debit/ATM cards. The fees were based on foreign transactions, including both purchases and ATM withdrawals, from February 1, 1996-November 8, 2006." You can claim it here. Even if you didn't get a letter, it's worth checking the site to see if you were somehow missed during the mass mailing. You have until May 30, 2008 to claim it.
Californians doing taxes: our wonderful state government may have already done our state taxes for us! Go here and as long as you qualify, it's done! Now you still have to do federal, but this should save you some money. It's a great idea that should be extended to the federal part.
Make sure to make copies of everything.
