Yes! That's my take on Thief of Hearts too! Dragons of Silk is great, but it's short stories of Chinese and Chinese-American women, rather than a novel. Did you read Dragon Road, about Casey's dad, Barney, in 1939? And basketball? And did you read Sea Glass? It's been a long, long time since I read that one, but I remember liking it.
