Being poor also reminded me of all the judgments people would make. The one that grated me on the most was, "Why would you choose to have kids when you're poor?" and "Why would you have so many?" It shows such an utter lack of understanding or comprehension about the way the world works. Kids are a fact of life. They are not just something that you decide to bring home one day, much like you would a puppy or a kitten.

It's funny the way people think sometimes. They'll say things like "It's completely up to you" until you actually make your own decision and if they don't like what you've decided, they judge you and deride you.

Fuck them.
