calling all nerds
For your next Internet start-up project, can you please create a map site that is accurate, gives me alternate routes, and also gives me context, like "You will not be able to make a left turn for the next five miles" or "You may miss this sign because it is covered by a giant tree"? I realize that Mapquest is the only one that gives alternate routes, but their alternate routes are really sucky and they have the most inaccurate maps of all the ones I've used. Anyway, just an idea.
Today I drove into work for a meeting that took place off-site. Driving home, I had several near-death experiences - a car stalled in the middle of the freeway, a BMW carrying an old dude talking on the cell phone almost side-swiped me, some minivan almost drove into me when trying to cut me off, and then still wouldn't use the signal lights after I slammed on my brakes... I'm glad to be home.
I am a magazine junkie. I bought Monocle because it looked really beautiful. It had some good articles too - one on China in Africa, one on filmmakers in the Middle East, and one on the Japanese "navy". I didn't like the short items that much, but I am still reading through everything.
Still packing.
