  • I just finished binging The Good Place, on both Hulu and Netflix, and I AM SO SAD that there isn't more. It actually made me want to read philosophy instead of bringing up memories of that one philosophy class I took where we didn't get past the first page all semester.
  • I only watched the first episode of Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, but I really liked it a lot. It's hosted by Samin Nosrat, an Iranian-American alum of Chez Panisse. I found it kind of refreshing, actually, from something like Ugly Delicious, because it's so gentle and non-angsty. Each episode focuses on a title component and there's lots of food porn and cooking, if not any explicit instruction. I've never really considered making pesto before, but I might do it now after watching how they do it on this show. Nosrat is a very delightful host - so little ego and so much joy in everything she tries and tastes.
  • Yotam Ottolenghi has a new podcast called Simple Pleasures where he cooks food from his newest book Simple for guests and talks with them about simple pleasures. First episode is with Nadiya Hussain, who won the sixth Great British Bake Off. it is really delightful.
