What exactly are we remembering? The things that caught my eye, just today:
- In 6,000 families, just “a single sole survivor” has been left behind in Gaza, according to Hani Mahmoud of Al Jazeera. 2,700 families have been entirely wiped out.
- There have been multiple deaths in detention camps. I still haven't seen a single politician, Republican or Democrat, call for their closures or for the people in them to be freed.
- Jake Tapper, CNN host, arguing with a Minnesota resident about whether a detention camp should be referred to as a concentration camp or not.
- A Chinese asylum seeker who recorded evidence of Uighur detention camps in Xinjiang is fighting deportation.
- TikTok censoring content worse under US ownership than under Chinese ownership.
