I began by reading in horror, but then it occurred to me - isn't it true that woman have all the eggs from the beginning and just go through them one at a time anyway? The way it was written, it was like a twin brother/sister had been put on hold, but the only difference was the location of the eggs, right?

Whatever! Yeah, it was weird, but I ended up getting pissed off at the writer for making much more of a mundane thing than was called for and wasting about five minutes of my life....
