Less than a week after the Food and Drug Administration lifted its warning on fresh spinach grown in California's Salinas Valley, a popular brand of lettuce grown there has been recalled over concerns about E. coli contamination.

Damn it, we just bought some packaged salad because we missed the farmer's market today. Anyway, it doesn't like like our lettuce is affected, but the company is based in Salinas. Hmm...

Hi -- I saw you added me and was curious, so I wandered over here and read a little bit. Your journal seems right, um, down my alley, so to speak. I've been annoyed by this E. coli thing with spinach -- they've taken it out of my grocery stores and off the menu at restaurants, and just, boo.

And now you've got me somewhat more engaged to go see The Departed, as well as to re-rent (since I didn't watch them before) the last season of BGS so I can watch this one... the whole season wasn't available on Netflix yet, when I got some episodes, and I hadn't realized that... and then the summer intervened.

Anyway -- hi. Nice to meet you, so to speak.
