some links of interest
This weekend was super-busy. Mark is in England for LinuxConf Europe; I had a wedding to attend and my sister and her kids came up for the weekend because she and her husband had a wedding to attend. I stayed with two of my sisters at their house over the weekend to avoid taking any bridges to get to the wedding. I am looking forward to today and not doing much other than cleaning up a little bit. Otherwise, here's a few links you guys might enjoy:
- Via the Bargainist: Express coupon - $10 off $40, or $20 off $80, and a free subscription to either Lucky or Details. Good through 9/16/07.
- Global Voices is one of my favorite blogs, mostly because I get information about stuff outside the US. However, I find it impossible to keep up with because it's basically about everybody, so I just bookmark interesting posts and save them for later reading. Some interesting ones (I definitely have a bias though):
- Syria: History, Culture, and Identity.
- China: Charity pulled for thankless poor students. My favorite selection from here is the story of a Chinese businessman who based his charity-giving on American influence.
- Zimbabwe: China withdraws support for Mugabe.
- David Tennant (aka Dr. Who) and Patrick Stewart (aka Professor X/Captain Picard) will be in a production of Hamlet together! I think I can convince Mark to go see a Shakespeare production now!
