i just started reading Elizabeth Gilbert's All the Way to the River

Which opens up with her dead (ex?)lover Rayya showing up as a ghost and telling her she's awesome and to go ahead and tell all the world everything that happened between them because she's dead anyway, what does she care? 

I don't know if I can finish this book. 

Additionally...this is the least well-written of Gilbert's books that I've read. It's weird.
