  1. If you have not registered to vote yet, you can do so here.
  2. If you are a registered Democrat, you will be able to vote in the California primary.
  3. If you are a registered independent voter or a "no party preference" voter, you will be sent a ballot without the presidential primary candidates. If you want to vote in the CA presidential primary, you have a few options: if you are registered to vote by mail (I highly recommend this), you will be sent a postcard allowing you to request an American Independent, Democratic, or Libertarian Party ballot by Feb 25. Otherwise you can contact your county elections office requesting a primary ballot for the party of your choice. If you are going to the polls to vote, you can request a specific ballot for the party of your choice.
  4. CA has same-day voter registration.
  5. The Prop 13 bill appearing on the March 3 ballot IS NOT the controversial property tax initiative Prop 13 (that one will be coming up in Sept). The one on March 3 is a $15 billion state bond issue to help schools, community colleges and universities with construction costs for their facilities.
