  1. If you have not registered to vote yet, you can do so here.
  2. If you are a registered Democrat, you will be able to vote in the California primary.
  3. If you are a registered independent voter or a "no party preference" voter, you will be sent a ballot without the presidential primary candidates. If you want to vote in the CA presidential primary, you have a few options: if you are registered to vote by mail (I highly recommend this), you will be sent a postcard allowing you to request an American Independent, Democratic, or Libertarian Party ballot by Feb 25. Otherwise you can contact your county elections office requesting a primary ballot for the party of your choice. If you are going to the polls to vote, you can request a specific ballot for the party of your choice.
  4. CA has same-day voter registration.
  5. The Prop 13 bill appearing on the March 3 ballot IS NOT the controversial property tax initiative Prop 13 (that one will be coming up in Sept). The one on March 3 is a $15 billion state bond issue to help schools, community colleges and universities with construction costs for their facilities.

I finally decided to cancel Pennysavers, and found the number here. However, the information posted is outdated. The phone tree system will direct you to go online or mail in your last Pennysaver circular to them to provide proof that you live there.

These are your options for canceling Pennysavers ads:

Go here and fill out the information to have your address removed from their database. You must affirm that you are the head of the household and at least 18 years of age. It takes at least 4-6 weeks to cancel and the suppression from their mailing list is only valid for 1 year due to high household mobility rate of people changing residences in California and Florida. So you'll probably have to do it again next year.

Does anyone even want Pennysavers, or use it? It just goes straight in the trash for us.
